William is a Partner in our Property Development and Litigation workgroups at wilson/ryan/grose Lawyers.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) degree from James Cook University.
William sits on the committee of the Townsville branch of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA).
William primarily practises in planning and environment law, local government law and the laws relating to property development. William also acts for clients in general litigation matters.
Experience
William regularly acts for property developers, local governments and third-party submitters, providing advice on a wide range of matters including the conduct of litigation in the Planning and Environment Court.
He also appears for clients in other courts and tribunals, including:
- Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT)
- Magistrates Court
- District Court
- Supreme Court
- Federal Court
- Land Court
In addition to litigious matters, William can also assist property developers with:
- Compliance with specific legislation such as the Property Occupations Act and the Land Sales Act
- Drafting complex easement or covenant documents
- Community titles issues and drafting development specific "off the plan" contracts and special conditions
As an authorised signatory with Property Exchange Australia (‘PEXA’), William can support his clients to complete numerous types of property transactions and settlements through the nationwide online property conveyancing system.
