Reminder to Provide Feedback on Draft North Queensland Regional Plan

By William McKenzie

21st October 2019

On 29 August 2019, the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning released the draft North Queensland Regional Plan for public comment.

The object of the plan is to provide a ’25-year framework for the direction the NQ region needs to move to ensure a more vibrant and sustainable future.’

Under the Planning Act 2016 (Qld) the draft plan – once introduced – will be considered to be a ‘planning instrument’ (alongside any applicable planning scheme).

The draft plan can be accessed here

Readers are reminded that submissions with respect to the content of the draft plan can be made via the Department’s website until midnight on 22 November 2019.

If you would like to know more about the introduction of the North Queensland Regional Plan please contact Dan Morton or William McKenzie.
