More Information
Rachel is a Wills and Estates lawyer who is experienced advising on estate planning, estate administration, estate litigation and superannuation matters. She works closely with individuals, families, and executors who are navigating the legal complexities following the death of a loved one or seeking to put their affairs in order.
Rachel assists with all aspects of estate planning including the preparation of Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Directives, Binding Death Benefit Nominations and testamentary discretionary trusts. Her estate administration work includes obtaining Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration, managing intestacies, and advising on the proper distribution of assets, including real property and ASX-listed shares. She also acts in family provision applications and disputes concerning the validity of Wills.
Rachel is particularly experienced in helping clients understand their rights in emotionally difficult or unfamiliar situations and is known for her empathetic approach, clear communication and practical guidance.
Prior to joining wilson/ryan/grose in 2022, Rachel served as Associate to His Honour Judge Coker in the District Court of Queensland. In this role, she travelled on circuit to Brisbane and various regional locations including Charters Towers, Bowen and Cairns, gaining exposure to the legal system across both civil and criminal jurisdictions. Before that, she worked as a legal secretary to Justin Greggery KC at 31 Sturt Chambers, assisting with matters across personal injuries, civil litigation, mediations, and criminal law.
Rachel is an active contributor to the Townsville community and currently serves as a volunteer board member of Althea Projects, a not-for-profit organisation supporting vulnerable children, families and individuals across North Queensland.
