Experience

Alexander regularly acts for clients across Queensland and abroad in all areas of estate planning. His practice emphasises careful consideration of each client’s unique financial, administrative and health needs. He has experience in preparing Wills tailored to meet these needs, such as through the incorporation of Testamentary Discretionary Trusts and Special Disability Trusts.

Aside from Wills, Alexander routinely prepares a suite of other estate planning tools, ranging from Enduring Powers of Attorney and Advance Health Directives to Binding Death Benefit Nominations for both regulated and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds.

Alexander also practises in business succession planning, including preparation of General Powers of Attorney. He understands how important clarity and security are to business owners, providing advice to owners of small and medium-sized enterprises with a focus on asset protection and forming a cohesive and strategic succession plan tailored to each client’s individual corporate structures.

Being appointed in an unfamiliar role such as an Attorney, Guardian, Administrator or Executor can be difficult. Alexander provides clients with advice on their rights, duties and obligations when acting in such roles to provide them with practical guidelines and ease of mind.

Alexander also routinely acts for both Executors and Administrators in the administration of Deceased Estates. He assists his clients every step of the way, from initial consultations and applications to the Supreme Court for Grants of Probate/Letters of Administration, to calling in assets and making final distributions.

He has acted for Executors, Guardians/Administrators and Beneficiaries in litigation matters, with experience that includes acting in claims for further provision from Estates, disputes concerning breaches of Trust, Enduring Power of Attorney disputes, guardianship and administration matters, Will construction and validity disputes.
