It can be difficult for body corporate committees to manage their onsite manager. An onsite manager (who is referred to as a "caretaking service contractor" in the legislation) is employed by the body corporate to keep the buildings and grounds of a unit complex maintained and repaired and to ensure that by-laws of the complex are complied with. One of the biggest causes for disputes relating to bodies corporate involves the relationship between the body corporate and their manager.

Disclosure Of Rebates, Discounts And Cash Back Arrangements

Vendors of Real Property may from time to time give select Purchasers rebates, discounts or cash back incentives to purchase property.

The Queensland Law Society, after discussions with the Office of State Revenue, the Registrar of Titles and Valuation Services has recently issued a Direction to lawyers in Queensland as to how such transactions should be reported. There had previously been no such Direction and often there was no disclosure to Government Departments such as the Titles Office or Office of State Revenue of the rebate, discount or cash back given by a Vendor to a Purchaser.
